Four Years of Picture Poses

Happy Anniversary to Gogo and I!!

On July 28th, I was so wrecked by my busted hip that I completely forgot about my four-year anniversary with Gogo. And it didn't even occur to me that it had passed until I got a bit of Vicoden in me and started to think about things other than the enormous pain I was in. I can't believe it's really been that long - four whole years!! I've never owned a horse past three before. She is my true horsey soulmate, and I can't imagine life without her.

In honor of this occasion, I'd like to do a couple of photo tributes, starting with Gogo's Famous Picture Pose. Over the past four years, a LOT has changed, but one thing in particular has stayed the same - Gogo is a ham for the camera and knows when it is on her. She either ignores the Paparazzi and droops her ears like a mule every time the flash bulbs get to popping, or she cooperates and strikes her best signature Picture Pose. This is just a mere sampling of the dozens of Picture Poses I have in my files... she literally turns her head and poses almost every time!

Four years worth of Picture Poses:

Soon to follow.... Four years of Strike A Pose poses and four years of unforgettable, erm... 'special' moments. ;) I LOVE MY WILD MARE!

(PS: canter feels PHENOMENAL. I intend on harassing one of my working students into taking some more video today. She gave me THE most incredible balanced, light and forward canter yesterday, once around the entire arena each way. I opted to canter carefully through the corners instead of risk repeated large up transitions into the canter, and I'm glad I did. Baby steps, but everyone had to start somewhere! The legs have some fill in them, which isn't surprising - right is a little warmer than the left, also not surprising. Not hot by any means, just not as cool as the other leg. Will be keeping a close eye on it, and will probably do jog-outs every day before I get on, just in case. If she is sound and feels the same day to day, we will carefully continue. I tell you though, that canter yesterday had me almost crying with joy. It felt so good!!)
