A quick teaser because I am a bad bad blogger this week (but I have reason to be, given the Staffing Crisis which continues to be eternally neverending and horribly stressful, and is now entering Month Two):
Is that a..... ROPING SADDLE?
And.... SOME TIGHT LEGS?
And.... SOME ROCK CRUNCHERS?
You better believe.... more later!
your attention to safety while riding never ceases to amaze me
ReplyDeleteHey. I was wearing a HELMET while cantering along the trail with my videocamera and letting my horse loose in the forest!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a beautiful trail. A roping saddle?
ReplyDeleteI am an avid follower of your blog. Thanks so much for sharing such interesting infos. I sit Gogo in Western tack? Has she sulked to you for it?
ReplyDeleteI am glad your mare is feeling much better.
Roping saddle AKA: my awesome trail saddle I scored for a total steal. I got it back in March or April when I was feeling lousy and wondering if my horse would ever do anything beyond trail riding again. Figured I should be prepared if a good deal came along somewhere, and one did ;) With that fleecy seat cover, it has to be THE most comfortable saddle EVER that isn't already specifically made as a trail saddle.... and by the grace of some higher power it has semi-QH bars are actually FITS her! My ex had an old roping saddle I used to trail ride her in but it had QH bars and kinda squished her withers a little. This one is perfect!
ReplyDeleteDUDE! Are you cantering a sound horse?? Nowai!
ReplyDeleteIt must be the western saddle. It's magical. ;)
Those ARE some nice rock crunchers!
ReplyDeleteYou go! LOVE the video, how fun! As for those rock crunchers..I'm striving for em.....and that tail! :)
ReplyDeleteLove Gogo in western tack, and those gorgeous feet! I've been reading your blog for a long time, and I was wondering if you could give me some advice. I want to try my horse barefoot. He was shod all four with toe clips when I got him, and he had never been turned out in less than stellar conditions. When he met the mud of wisconsin spring, his feet fell apart. We were able to pull his hind shoes, but anytime the fronts came off (or he threw one) he would go dead lame. He lost a shoe about a month ago, and was absolutely can't walk lame, even on bute. Im wondering how to transition him barefoot (if I even should?) and deal with his lameness. What would you recommend doing? His show season is over, so if he needs time off that's not a problem. The shoes are just making his feet crumble and I want him to have solid feet. He is on biotin, and I regularly apply Tuff Stuff to his hooves. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!
